1st Hole - Old One:

1st Hole

hole 1

The first hole is a par five with a great view from the elevated tee.  The landing area has a severe slope from left to right, so a well place tee shot will land in the left half of the fairway and roll to the flat on the right.  Longer hitters can catch the down slope which kicks the ball towards the bottleneck around the 200 yard marker.  Be careful not to end up behind the pine on the right, it will block all chances of getting within 125 yards of the hole.    On the approach there is room to run up longer attempts.  Bunkering makes this task slightly difficult, so be accurate and favor the right side of the green as entry.  The green being long front to back will make club selection very important on approaches with a short iron or wedge.  Watch out for the front left pin placement, as this area hides behind a front bunker with the green running slightly away from you.
